About the Stockholm Postal Orchestra

Stockholm Postal Orchestra (Postorkestern) was founded 1938 by postal employed union members in Stockholm. Initially the orchestra consisted of a brass octet playing at union meetings.

The Orchestra has grown since and is today a symphonic wind ensemble with 30 members. Today’s orchestra, led by Martin Conradsson, has a wide repertoire including Swedish and international music in different genres: classic, musicals, marches and original music for wind ensemble.

The Stockholm Postal orchestra is hired to play entertainment music at exhibitions, trade shows, openings and regularly arranges own concerts, sometimes with guest soloists.

In 1978, members of the Stockholm Postal Orchestra founded a big band, which today is called Air Mail Big Band.
